LITTLE BEAKS AND WINGS

~*Hello*~

Ruby is a beautful Scarlet Macaw. Ruby and I found each other in November 2005. At that time I didn't have any birds, even though through out my life we always had some type of bird. I went into my local pet store and there she was. I remember that day very well! I was with my mom and I can still hear her saying "no you are not getting that bird" well guess who came home with "that bird" about a week later...... that would be me!

I went over to go see her, she was in a smaller cage (big enough for her but could have been bigger) with a sign "Ruby $$$$ says hello and whats up" thats all I knew about her. She said Hello to me and I talked with her for a little bit and said I was sorry but I just couldn't get her. Well of course the next day I went to go see her and to just ask a little bit more about her. So after MUCH thought, at the end of that week I handed the pet store a credit card and she came to her forever home.

We got home and settled and I decided I would be brave and take her out all by myself for the first time. Well she came right out of her cage, but then flew at me! I have never been so afraid in my life hahaa. A few days lateri had someone come and clip her wings for me. I will never forget that day thats for sure.

I have now had Ruby for almost a year, and she has truly become part of the family and the start to my true passion for birds now. Ruby got a big new cage which had to be brought through the window ( thats a whole nother story) and has learned to say much more then hello and whats up. She loves to laugh and her new favorite word is cracker. She loves to talk to her new lovebird friend Melina who has picked up words from her.
